PROFESSIONAL PIANO MOVING SERVICES YOU CAN TRUST

A company with proven, reliable services should transport a piano. These instruments can weigh several hundred pounds, so navigating them down floors, through hallways, and elevators can be especially tricky.

There can be times when an alternative removal method is necessary because of a piano’s size or shape.

Our professional piano moving services at Urban Movers use the specific tools and gear to carry this instrument safely. We take the white-glove approach to every piano style, including providing fasteners and other technical equipment to create the safest loading process possible.

TYPES OF PIANOS WE CAN MOVE FOR YOU

Upright Pianos. This style is the most common type found in Calgary. It easily fits into homes and buildings because the instrument isn’t as broad as the other designs.

Grand Pianos. A genuine grand piano is a comprehensive instrument that deserves the utmost care and protection. It requires incredible craftsmanship to create this investment, and our professional movers respect the investment this piece is for your home, business, church, or theater production.

Digital Pianos. Our team safely loads and unloads your electronic piano using today’s best practices to ensure your instrument arrives in the same condition it left.

Piano moving is a very serious and responsible task, taking into account the weight, size, and value of this musical instrument. Thereby, whether it comes to purchasing a brand new piano or moving an antique piano from one location to another, there is always a problem related to its safe transportation. Don’t risk scratching or otherwise damaging your musical instrument; call on Urban Movers to ensure that your piano relocation is executed successfully.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO MOVE A PIANO?

The cost of moving a piano really depends on several factors, including the type of piano you have, the distance of the move, and whether you need to disassemble the legs and pedals.

However, this should not discourage you from moving your piano, at least not with Urban Movers. We offer competitive rates and will work with you to create a moving package that fits your budget.

There are no hidden charges–what we agree upon is what you will pay. And to ensure that the final cost is within your budget, we’ll give you a free moving quote before we start the moving process.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO MOVE THE PIANO?

The best time to move a piano is during the cooler months of the year, such as October through April. This is because pianos are sensitive to temperature and humidity changes and can go out of tune more easily in hot weather.

But if you must move during the summer, be sure to schedule your move early in the day or evening, when it’s not so hot. And be sure to protect your piano from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Whatever the time of year, when you move with Urban Movers, we’ll take all the necessary precautions to protect your piano from weather damage.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MOVING MY PIANO?

Now that your piano is in your new home, there are a few things you should do to keep it in perfect condition.

First, if your piano was in storage, have it tuned. Pianos can go out of tune when in storage, so it’s important to get them tuned as soon as possible.

Second, keep your piano away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Sunlight can fade the finish, and heat can damage the soundboard.

Third, if you have an upright piano, keep it level. Upright pianos can go out of tune if they’re not level, so use a spirit level to ensure it’s in the correct position.
